6th April. Lhasa, Tibet.
I'm sitting on top of the world, in the saddest little airport you ever did see, and I'm holding my breath waiting for the next flight out of here. I have to!
Tibet is certainly a stunning place, beautifully desolate and untouched, and its people are some of the most hospitable I've ever met. It's environment on the other hand, not so much. There's not enough of many things to go around in this country, air being one of them. I haven't managed a satisfactory intake of oxygen into my lungs in over a week. The obligatory jumping-around-like-an-eejit-in-front-of-Mount-Everest shot you see above just about took it out of me!
There's blood in my nose, pain in my chest, and soap in my noodles. It's time to get out. As amazing as this country is, I can't wait to breathe again.
